From Montauk to the Ironman World Championship in Nice, France
I met Laszlo on August 16 this year during my birthday ride to Montauk with Mirela. While we were celebrating with a 100 km ride, he had just finished an incredible 148-mile training ride from Manhattan to Montauk. On the train ride back, we struck up a conversation, and I quickly learned that Laszlo wasn’t just passionate about cycling, he’s a world-class athlete. From his very first Ironman in Cozumel, he was qualified for a slot at the Ironman World Championship in Nice. That says everything about his talent and discipline.
Our first encounter on the LIRR train back to the city after a long ride.
Laszlo later told me about his fueling plan at the Ironman World Championship in Nice on September 14. Here’s how he described it:
”Convenient source of energy that actually tastes good, doesn’t leave a mess and is easy to carry. This hidden gem has become my go to solid for both training and racing. My Ironman world championship strategy included a cacao peanut butter ~1 hour before start, a goji berry as a treat on the bike, and a matcha just before the halfway point of the marathon for that final caffeine hit.”
Stories like Laszlo’s remind me why I started pwrfuel in the first place, not just as fuel, but as part of a community of athletes who push each other further.
May pwrfuel bring you abundant energy for your training and race.
Fueling during the race with a pwrfuel Matcha Energy Bite.
